The Workshop is located in Prestwich, North Manchester - just off J17 of the M60, with the AO Arena, Co-op Live, New Century, Aviva Studios, the Academy venues, and the Apollo all within 15-30 mins drive.

Whether you need a quick string change and once over before a show, a component change, a pre-tour setup & deep clean, or a full re-fret/re-wire, I can help.

Strings aren’t included with a service, but I keep a small stock of the usual suspects handy if required. Alternatively, I’m more than happy to use a set you provide.

Services

  • This will get you up and running when time is tight. The basic setup includes -

    Changing and stretching of new strings + Cleaning of neck and fretboard + Oiling of fretboard + Necessary minor nut adjustments + Truss rod adjustment + Setting action + Setting intonation

  • Time not an issue and feeling fancy? This is ideal tour prep, giving you a fighting chance of making it from point A to point Z suitably uneventfully - Just how we like it!

    Includes everything in the basic setup, plus-

    Removal and polish of all hardware + Fret polish + Ultrasonic bridge cleaning + Inspection & cleaning of Electronics + Changing of nut slots + Lubrication of nut

  • Fretboard not quite behaving? Sounds like you need to teach it a lesson… A lesson including but not limited to -

    Straightening of neck + Inspection & levelling of frets + Profiling of frets + Rounding of fret ends + Polishing of frets

    Includes a set up

  • If your frets are super janky, there’s not enough material left for a fret dress, or you just fancy a change in fret size or fretboard radius, this is the one… Includes -

    Removal of old frets + Re-radius of fretboard (if required) + Re-levelling fretboard + Fret slots cleaned + Fret slots recut to depth + New frets of your choice installed + Fret ends bevelled

    Also Includes a set up, and fret dress & polish
